dedication to our community, practical expertise, and service-minded leadership.

why me, why moscow

I was raised in Moscow by working-class parents who taught me the value of hard work, an appreciation for good music, and the importance of a well-manicured baseball field.

Being part of the close-knit Moscow community made me the person I am today: I’m proud to be a product of the Moscow School District and a third-generation Moscow High School graduate, and my University of Idaho engineering education allowed me to start my own business here at home. Now, I’m raising my own family in Moscow, carrying on the tradition of dad jokes, summer math camp, and turning the music up to eleven.

I’m running for Moscow City Council to ensure that the same personal and professional opportunities that I’ve had here are available to current and future generations on the Palouse.

Valuable Professional Experience

As the owner of an engineering firm that has grown from two founding employees to over 20 employees with offices in Moscow, Pullman, and Spokane, I have first-hand experience navigating government systems.

I know how to develop creative solutions, collaborate with city staff, present to the public, and build partnerships in both the public and private sectors. This is especially valuable for achieving my top priority as a City Council member: improving access to housing.

And I know that running a city, like running a business, requires thinking broadly and boldly: seeking solutions that benefit the group, leading by listening to what the people around me need, and reaching out to others for expertise and mentorship.

Commitment to Service

I’m grateful that I can give back to the community that has given so much to me.

I’ve volunteered as a member for the City of Moscow Transportation Commission for four years, serving as commission chair for the past three years.

When my children were elementary students they attended Lena Whitmore, my alma mater, and I was able to return to my old school as a PAT board member to help raise funds to replace the playground.

Through my business, I’ve been able to support local and regional nonprofits and their important missions in our community. This support has consisted of donating time and expertise to support their mission of helping our community.

As a City Councilor, I will bring this same commitment to serving Moscow, ensuring our community is the kind of place that all residents, as well as future generations, are as proud to call home as I am.

My Top priority:
achievable housing

Of the many issues facing Moscow today, none is greater than access to housing. I want Moscow’s kids to be able to choose to stay here because they can afford to live here.

My experience as a professional civil engineer specializing in land development and site design gives me technical expertise and insight into the housing challenges that Moscow faces.

I want to ensure that Moscow responds to the challenges responsibly, while expanding access to housing.
