about Scott

I grew up in Moscow, Idaho, spending most of my time playing sports and riding bikes all over town. Bear Den was a second home, as my Dad coached football and baseball for over four decades, including throughout my childhood. I learned a lot through playing sports: how to lead, follow, deal with adversity, and work with people that you may not agree with towards a common goal. These skills have been instrumental in my life and career.

I have always been a math person, but after high school I wasn’t sure where that was going to lead as a career. To pay for college, I worked as a concrete laborer, which introduced me to civil engineering, a path that I’ve followed for over twenty years. I am a founder and vice president of SynTier Engineering, and I’m proud to say that I enjoy the work that I do and the people that I work with.

This upcoming spring I will celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary to my amazing wife, Eija, who is always there to champion my successes and support me through my failures. We have three wonderful kids, a sophomore at the University of Idaho, a junior at Moscow High School, and an 8th Grader at Moscow Middle School.

Most days, my time is spent enjoying my kid’s activities, working on our never ending house projects, playing basketball, or enjoying Moscow’s rolling hills on the U of I golf course.
